About us

Birmingham University Evangelical Christian Union (BUECU) is the largest Christian group at the University of Birmingham. It has a heart for building up Christians in their faith and for providing opportunities for non-Christians to find out more about Jesus and the radical claims He made, giving them a choice to either reject or accept him as their Lord and Saviour.

As well as our main teaching meeting each Thursday evening (Central), we also have a weekly prayer meeting (Prayer & Praise) and hall groups and house groups in Selly Oak.

Each month, we put on events in halls, in Selly Oak and on campus that allow students to hear, question and respond to the Christian message. Two out of every three years we hold a Mission week - a week dedicated to raising awareness of Christianity on campus.

We are linked with many of the local churches, and they consider the Christian Union to be the evangelistic arm of the local church - because as students we have a great opportunity to live and speak for Jesus on campus, which the local churches don't have.
